Right now, students are transitioning to distance learning, and dealing with stressful situations stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Georgia State students can’t afford groceries without the income from a part-time job that was lost. Others are struggling to pay their rent.

In response, Georgia State has created the Emergency Assistance Fund to help students cover their critical expenses like rent, food and other basic necessities.

So far, almost 900 members of the Panther family have made a gift to the fund. These donors are enabling vulnerable students to get through financial hardship and get back to focusing on classes.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we will need more help. More than 1,000 students requested emergency support from the fund during the first month of this pandemic, with the number of applications growing each week. The best way you can help students in these times is by ensuring there are still emergency funds available when they are needed.

If you would like to help students in this way, simply click the button above to make a gift.

On behalf of Georgia State University and all my classmates, we appreciate your help, and I hope that you and your loved ones remain healthy.

Sincerely,
Farooq
